“The best way to make children good is to make them happy” – Oscar Wilde
And that’s precisely how kids felt – happy, and their infectious energy only mirrored. Children’s Day, this year was spent with kids, being kids, and we couldn’t have wanted it any other way. The wonder in their eyes, made us wonder at how little they expect, but the energy they emit is palpably colossal. The most remarkable thing, however, was the confidence they exuded; strutted like bosses, knew what they wanted, had big dreams, and they seemed half-way there…not coz they are, but coz they believe in themselves.

We sliced up some love with cheesy delicious pizzas by Circle of Crust, which were savored and the fact that kids wanted repeat servings, made us feel full in heart. Kicked up some heels on the playground, and oh boy, all boys and girls were as bouncy as a trampoline. They kept us all on our toes: we all sprinted, galloped and bolted but couldn’t match their energy. And if that wasn’t enough, they wanted to shake things up with some Bollywood moves, and we were told unwaveringly the tracks they wanted to dance on. Not sure if the motivation was our company or the chocolates we had as rewards, but the moments were pure joy.
Goodbye is a sunset and but it’s also a sweet promise to come back. Hugs were exchanged and promises made and kept. Caring for these special souls isn’t just an act of kindness, it’s an act of obedience to God. The beauty of this cause is that it’s not only transformative for the kids we help and support, but it brings a significant cognitive change in us as well. Cheers to the endless curiosity, and the innate magic they add to the world.
And “while we try to teach our children all about life, our children teach us what life is all about” -Angela Schwindt.
